A Huge Thank You to our Associate Members and our state Associates Council!

Since September is NAHB Associate Appreciation month, there is no better time than now to tell our Associate members/volunteers how awesome they are and how much they are appreciated! Associate members are anyone, besides builders or remodelers, that are involved in the housing industry. They may be subcontractors, utility providers, sales and marketing experts, interior designers, title companies, lawyers, bankers, product suppliers and manufacturers, realtors, insurance agents, you name it. Our Associate members make up more than half of our total membership! They devote countless volunteer hours to the association with many things such as fundraising, networking events, advocacy, committee memberships, and various involvement on the national, state, and local level. There's no doubt that they are an integral part of our team and are an incredible asset not only to the association but to the housing industry as well.

One of the primary benefits Associates gain from their membership with the Arkansas Home Builders Association is the opportunity to network and spotlight the services they provide to builders and remodelers. Builder and remodeler members, in turn, have the opportunity to meet, learn from and work with a wide range of building professionals that can help enhance their business! It's a win-win situation! For this reason, our members are always encouraged to get involved, get to know each other and to always "Do Business with a Member!"

Arkansas is fortunate to have a very active state Associates Council. The Council meets quarterly in conjunction with the State Board of Directors meetings and is planning "Taking it on the Road" events throughout the state to spread the word and encourage others to "get involved!" Stay tuned for more information about these events coming to your area!

The Associates Council most recently nominated two of our members for prestigious NAHB Associate Awards, recognizing the importance of both Associate Members AND Builder Members who use Associate Members in their business.

Aaron Crowe, with Simpson Strong-Tie, was nominated by the Council as NAHB Associate of the Year because of his outstanding contributions to the home building industry on the local, state and national levels. Aaron currently represents Arkansas on the national level as the Associate National Director, and he works very hard and volunteers many hours in support of our industry on all levels.

Builder, Keith Wingfield of River Rock Builders, LLC, was nominated for the NAHB BEAM (Builders Engaging Associate Members) Award because of his avid support of the Associate members and his recognition of the value that the Associates bring to our Association. Keith is a firm believer in doing business with a member, saying that he considers subcontractors and associates that work for him an "integral part of his building team," and "truly a part of his family."

As you can see, the AHBA is a great team working together to do great things for the housing industry, and I invite you to join us!

If you would like more information about joining the Arkansas Home Builders Association, please contact me (Vicki) at (501) 563-5025 or vicki@arkansashomebuilders.org or if you are already a member and would like to be involved with the Associates Council, you may contact Dianna Nicks (Acting Chair of the AHBA Associates Council) at(870) 897-3753 or dianna.nicks@centerpointenergy.com
